The memories I have of my children with their first trip to Disney World will never fade away. As soon as we received our Disney tickets the three kids were packed and ready, even though our trip wasn’t to start for another three days. We choose our family vacation to Orlando in March, which happened to be right around the Spring Break time associated with our children’s school. The kid’s ages are about two years apart. This turned out to be perfect; since they were all under the age of 12 the first time we went to Disney. For the most part they all shared similar youthful interests at about the same time. When we arrived at Disney in the morning we found that the traffic flow went smoothly right up to our parking area. Everything was clearly posted with directions easily read that guided us along. A shuttle was right there waiting for us as we gathered up our things and locked up our car. The friendly driver welcomed us aboard and took us to the entrance gate. The shuttle process is a very well-orchestrated. At the gate it was only a short wait before the five of us were in the park and on our way to different adventures.

I remember this first trip quite clearly because, having three children under the age of twelve, a parent can normally expect adverse effects if children have to wait for any length of time. There was very little waiting involved. Even as we approached the parking area the sculptures of various animals kept the kids entertained just as soon as we entered the Disney realm. Yes, there were lines where the five of us had to wait to enter an attraction. But, once again Disney to the rescue! The managers at Disney know how important it is to have children entertained while they wait. Behold, along came a host of cartoon characters from every childhood book imaginable. Bright happy costumes and the mime they performed were very cheerful.
